What if the HYPERFOCUS, that is part of ADHD, is the SAME THINGS as the state of “flow,” or “being in the zone”? 🤔
In the positive psychology book “Flow, The Psychology of Optimal Experience” by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, flow is described as:
“a state in which people are so involved in an activity that nothing else seems to matter; the experience is so enjoyable that people will continue to do it even at great cost, for the sheer sake of doing it.”
This also describes hyperfocus! There are downsides to hyperfocus, (as Csikszentmihalyi also describes flow), but
HYPERFOCUS IS A POWERFUL, INTENSE ABILITY TO FOCUS!
